This weekend, the activity assigned by Amal Academy called “Fixing Stuff around Yourself” is about taking Responsibility without authority.

First of all, I am a Physiotherapist and doing internship in a private clinic which is distant from my home. It takes about 45 minutes — 1 hour to reach my work place. I spend most of my time at my clinic. It’s like my second home. Being a responsible person, I am punctual at my work and perform my duties with dedication. I am the person who take initiative and like cleanliness (a trait which I got from my father). This is an attribute of Everyday Leadership to be followed by everyone.

Clinic-My second home

· Cleaning a Kitchen:

Looking at a chaotic kitchen seems so unhygienic.

Before Cleaning

Hygiene is very integral part of a kitchen because uncleanliness in this area can affect our health directly. Me and my colleagues are very foodie by nature. After eating the food, kitchen was very messy. I feel stressed when I see a place disorganized. I feel supreme duty to clean the kitchen of my second home. So, I took this charge and clean it in no time.

“The objective of cleaning is not just to clean, but to feel happiness living within that environment.” Marie Kondo

After Cleaning

· Improvement in History taking form:

In Physiotherapy, history plays a vital role to assess the patient. History taking form is necessary to maintain record of patients for follow-up purpose. My clinic is in developing stage. We took history on a register. When I was looking things to fix around myself, I felt that I should design a history form and print it out. I made it and showed it to my boss. She also appreciated my efforts. I felt contented by this step of leadership. History form previously used and which I made is attached below.

· Organizing my Room:

As I mentioned above that my work place is far from my home and I travel in local transport going to my work place. I become tired after almost 2 hours of travelling every day. It is very difficult for me to clean and organize my room. It is always messy. My belongings like laptop and notebook are not in their place. Sometimes I can’t find my pen or notebook at the time of use. I couldn’t find time to organize my room due to my hectic routine. But this activity made me motivated and I organized all my stuffs and room within 30 minutes. I feel relaxed while sleeping.
