“Reflection is one of the most underused yet powerful tools for success.” — Richard Carlson

Reflection is an essential piece of the learning cycle. It permits us to get familiar with ourselves and how we learn, however it additionally helps us in improving abilities. Reflection is a vital ingredient to move knowledge from short-term to long-term memory.

Today, I am writing about the positive reflection on memories of the Career-Prep Fellowship Program at Amal Academy. Joining Amal Academy was a dream come true and a life-long learning experience. I was trying for this opportunity for three years. I was fortunate enough to get selected in 2020.

AMAL ACADEMY:

For those who don’t have the foggiest idea what Amal Academy will be, Amal is an Education start-up financed by Stanford University and PepsiCo that teaches proficient abilities to students or recent graduates. Amal gives different career improvement abilities and helps Pakistani youth construct extensions to their professional skills. It was established in 2013 by Stanford University graduates Benje Williams and Kunal Chawla and supported by Acumen Fund and Stanford Graduate School of Business.

FAVOURITE PART:

My voyage in AMAL ACADEMY started three months ago. Different people and personalities with divergent backgrounds present on the same platform for a journey of learning from wonderful mentors Miss Sahar and Miss Mishal. We used to talk in Whatsapp groups having minimal funny battles, sharing musings, celebrating one another’s happiness, helping each other in project work was an amazing encounter. This fellowship program has myriad positive impacts on my personality, and it helped me in stepping forward to my career. During the initial weeks after appearing in online sessions, I started feeling a positive change in myself.

MOST IMPORTANT LESSON:

The most important thing I learned during fellowship was how to give or receive constructive feedback and how to choose words before speaking. A little change in the arrangement of the sentences changed the entire importance of the sentence. I had been practicing since our weekend session held on the topic of feedback when we had an activity with three batch fellows. We had to give them different feedbacks. I will incorporate this tip throughout my life. It is really helpful to motivate others.

Taking part in the Fellowship of Amal Academy is my best decision so far and a LIFE CHANGING experience. This journey will last forever in my memory. ❤✌
