A SMART goal is the one that is specific, measurable, attainable, relevant, and time-bound. This criterion assists to integrate guidance and direction in goal setting, which increases enthusiasm and leads to better results in attaining long-lasting change. Big journeys always start with small steps. We just have to focus on our steps.

Setting SMART goals is a process that is used to help people state and implement plans.

“You measure the size of the accomplishment by the obstacles you have to overcome to reach your goals.” — Booker T. Washington

My most important goal is to start my own clinical setup.

When I converted it into SMART goal, it sounds like “I will gradually start buying at least 5 physiotherapy equipment per month with my savings and have experience to practice in my future physiotherapy clinical setup to be started in 6–10 months.”

Then I break this statement into different small tasks to be fulfill in next few months, which are following:

  1. Place order for the equipment just for start and buy things with my savings.
  2. Gain more experience in my field to improve my physiotherapy skills or doing courses online to gain more knowledge.
  3. To save some more amount of money.
  4. Searching for a place to open a clinic.

I completed the first step of my dream during this week. I had some money in my bank account which I saved during lockdown. I made the pandemic time so productive. I ordered some equipment with my savings and got my order delivered after two days. I feel so ecstatic accomplishing my task.

“It always seems impossible until it’s done.” — Nelson Mandela

My Physiotherapy Equipment

Challenges I faced during past:

· Lack of Experience:

In order to be successful in any field, we need experience. As I am recently graduated. I was lacking experience of the field. I didn’t know How to communicate with patient and to tackle the clinical situations.

· Lack of Money:

To start something big, we should have a big amount of money for investment. I had small amount by which I cannot start a clinic.

I learned from this experience that Nothing is impossible to achieve. You just need to make SMART Goals and get successful. One day your parents will be proud of you.
